Finally Home is for residents who have difficulty qualifying for conventional, sustainable mortgages because of factors such as bruised credit or a high debt-to-income ratio. Since its establishment in 2002, it has guaranteed over $80 million in loans to more than 600 families.

 Eligible financial institutions partner with the State Treasurer’s office who guarantee 10% of the purchase price for a five year period on a fair rate home loan. The program focuses on lower to middle income families trying to buy or refinance a home, but are unable due to circumstances “but for” the 10% guarantee to the financial institution.
