The 2026 Cream of the Crop Photo Contest Is Open

Illinois students ages 8 to 18 are invited to submit original photos that capture their view of Illinois agriculture throughout the seasons.

The Cream of the Crop Photo Contest is an annual photography contest that celebrates Illinois agriculture, from farms and fields to livestock, farmers’ markets, equipment, and rural landscapes.

The contest is open through June 12, 2026.

Prizes

Winners will be selected in three age groups:

• Ages 8 to 10
• Ages 11 to 14
• Ages 15 to 18

Prizes will be awarded in each age group:

• First place: $1,000 Bright Start 529 scholarship
• Second place: $500 Bright Start 529 scholarship
• Third place: $250 Bright Start 529 scholarship

How to Enter

Students may submit up to two original photos related to Illinois agriculture.

Winners

Winning photos may be featured in program marketing, included in the 2026–2027 contest calendar, and highlighted at an Ag Day reception with the Treasurer at the Illinois State Fair.
